The Weekly Feed Guidelines

The Weekly Feed is Kennesaw State’s official digest of events, information, and announcements from around the university. Serving as an alternative to KSU Today, the goal is to provide a platform for colleges and departments while enhancing collaboration and communication. The Weekly Feed is curated, approved, and distributed by the Office of Communications and Marketing Internal Communication team and will adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Submissions must relate to university business, be of general interest and importance to the majority of the faculty and staff population.
  • Submissions must fit into one of the following categories (final category placement is at the discretion of the editor):
    • Announcements & Updates
    • Academics & Research
    • Activities & Events
    • Deadlines & Reminders
    • Training & Workshops
  • Messages should be proofread prior to submission. Please ensure all dates, times, and links are correct – neither the Office of Communications and Marketing or University Information Technology Services is responsible for the accuracy of your message.
  • Use standard formatting and punctuation in your messages (e.g., no full capitalization, emojis, or repeated punctuation marks).
  • Message titles should be specific to the topic and no more than 100 characters.
  • Submissions should be concise and include only relevant, factual information.
  • Multiple entries from a single department should be consolidated into one message where possible with a link to a webpage offering specific details of each event, course, etc.
  • Surveys of faculty and staff (not related to the Office of Research) will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Submissions will only be accepted by university faculty or staff.
  • Submissions related to research projects and surveys must have an IRB approval letter before submission.
  • No communications or solicitations from outside vendors will be permitted.
  • If it is determined that The Weekly Feed is not the appropriate medium for your message, we will notify you with recommendations for other options.

Note: All submissions will be reviewed and approved by the Internal Comms team. If you have any questions about these guidelines and/or if you have a question about a message prior to submission, please contact: ksucommunication@kennesaw.edu
